Florence purchases

When we were in Florence, everyone did some pretty heavy duty shopping. There's a section of the city where vendors line the streets - Lisa calls it the leather market, I don't know if there's an official name for it? - and they sell scarves, hats, gloves, boots, clothes, purses, etc. We spent quite a bit of time there and this is the stuff I got:

These are my gloves. They're really warm, which was perfect for Florence since it was FREEZING when we were there. Ok, it wasn't that cold, but I love the gloves. They're the kind that can be mittens or fingers-free too - multipurpose!

I got all four of these scarves for about 4 euro each. Actually, the multicolored one was more like 6 euro, but it's extremely soft and comfortable and really beautiful.

I got these boots for 20 euro. They're not fancy leather but they're really comfortable and I obviously needed brown ones because my black ones won't go as well with brown outfits.

This is my very favorite purchase from all of Italy - my beautiful new purse!! I got it from one of Lisa's "guys" in Florence, so I got a really good deal on it (something like 40% off).

Plus lots of pockets! Which is really important to me, as anyone who's ever purse shopped with me knows.

That's all for now. When I went to Florence again today with Dad, he bought me a hat, but no pictures of it yet.

Saldi!! (everyone in Rome dresses like Aunt Bat)

This is a bunch of stuff I got during Saldi, the twice-yearly sale in Rome. This blog is mostly for my mom to see what I got, but I figure there might be a couple others out there interested in my new Italian fashion :)

These are my new - expensive - black boots. It was a little anxiety-inspiring for me to buy these, but they're molto cute and I really like them.

Here are a couple other views of them.

This is my new off-white peacoat. Only 20 euro! Zara has some awesome sales.

This is the black peacoat I bought. It was more expensive, but exactly what I wanted, and really warm and comfortable. I haven't really needed the warm coat here in Rome though, it's been extremely pleasant and warm (quite the opposite of the uber snowstorm in Seattle!!).

I got these brown suede boots from Zara for 14 euro!! That's only about $20. They're surprisingly comfortable too, although I'm not going to even try wearing them around the cobblestoned streets of Rome.

These are the two new bras I got at Yamamay, which seemed to me like the Italian Victoria's Secret (except not quite as good). I did get them both for 20 euro though. Only about $26 altogether.

The next three sweaters I also got at Zara. They were each 15 euro.

The next three shirts I got at a store called Habana, each for only 10 euro. As I said before, Saldi rocks.

These last three tank tops I also got at Zara (where else). The first two were only 4 euro each. That is a little over $5! The last one was only about 12 euro.

All the Italian women dress so nicely here, I constantly feel like a scrub. But I'm improving my wardrobe bit by bit! Next on my list is a cute gray or black skirt to go with my new coat and boots. Aunt Bat, aren't you proud? :)
